TVK Live is an independent digital news publication covering Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, Chief Minister Vijay, Tamil Nadu government affairs, and breaking political news. Our editorial standards are built on accuracy, fairness, and public accountability.

Independence

Our newsroom operates independently. Editorial decisions — what to cover, how to cover it, and what positions to take — are made solely by our editorial team without influence from advertisers, political parties, or commercial partners. No individual or organisation can pay to influence our coverage.

Accuracy

We verify information with multiple independent sources before publication. Facts, figures, and quotations are checked against primary sources including official government records, press releases, and direct interviews. Where a single source is used, this is stated explicitly in the article.

Fairness & balance

We give all parties named in a story a reasonable opportunity to respond before publication. We present multiple perspectives on contested issues and clearly label opinion and analysis as distinct from news reporting.

Transparency

We disclose conflicts of interest. Reporters do not cover stories in which they have a personal financial or political stake. Sponsored or partner content is clearly labelled and kept editorially separate from news reporting.

Headlines & social media

Headlines accurately represent the content of articles. We do not use misleading, exaggerated, or sensationalised language to drive clicks. The same standards apply to descriptions and text used in social media posts.

Sourcing

• Named, on-the-record sources are preferred in all cases.
• Anonymous sources are used only when information is significant, cannot be obtained otherwise, and the source's identity is known to the editor.
• We do not publish rumours or unverified claims, including those circulating on social media, without independent confirmation.
• Readers are informed when articles are based on press releases or government communications without independent reporting.

Images & video

We use only images and videos we own, have licensed, or that are in the public domain. Images are not digitally altered to misrepresent events. Image captions accurately describe what is shown.

Corrections Policy

We take accuracy seriously and acknowledge when we make mistakes. Corrections are made promptly, transparently, and without attempting to hide the fact that an error occurred.

How we handle errors

When an error is confirmed, we correct it as soon as possible. The correction is appended to the original article in a clearly marked "Correction" note that states what the original text said, what the correct information is, and when the correction was made. We do not silently delete or alter text without noting the change.

Types of corrections

• Factual errors — incorrect names, dates, figures, or statements of fact are corrected with a note at the top or bottom of the article.
• Clarifications — where language was ambiguous but not factually wrong, a clarification note is added.
• Updates — where facts change after publication (e.g. a court verdict, a resignation), the article is updated and marked "Updated" with a timestamp.
• Retractions — in rare cases where an entire story is found to be based on false information, it is retracted. The retraction notice remains permanently at the original URL.

Reporting an error

If you believe you have found an error in our reporting, please contact us at corrections@tvk.live with the article URL, the specific error, and supporting evidence if available. We aim to review all correction requests within 48 hours.

Right of reply

Individuals or organisations who believe they have been inaccurately or unfairly reported on may request a right of reply. We will consider all such requests and publish a response if warranted.
