The fallout within the AIADMK is intensifying as evening approaches. Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS), visibly shaken by the rebellion of 25 MLAs led by S.P. Velumani and C.Ve. Shanmugam, held a press briefing at his Greenways Road residence. Palaniswami announced that the official AIADMK faction will immediately approach the Assembly Speaker to initiate disqualification proceedings against the rebel MLAs under the Anti-Defection Law. He also hinted at seeking judicial intervention, claiming the trust vote was "unconstitutionally influenced."
